EGYPTIAN BLUE
EGYPTIAN BLUE is an epic historical drama and action-adventure examining the rise, influence, conquest, and transformation of ancient Kemet and the civilizations that came into contact with it. Beginning in the ancient Mediterranean world, the story follows a period when travelers, philosophers, merchants, soldiers, and political leaders from Hellas encountered an African civilization whose traditions in mathematics, astronomy, architecture, law, religion, craftsmanship, and statecraft had developed across centuries.
At the center of the story is Egyptian Blue itself — one of the ancient world’s most remarkable manufactured pigments. Within the film, the pigment becomes more than a color. It becomes a symbol of knowledge: how knowledge is created, inherited, carried across borders, transformed by succeeding civilizations, and sometimes separated from the people and places from which it originated. Through the experiences of rulers, craftsmen, soldiers, priests, philosophers, families, and foreign visitors, EGYPTIAN BLUE moves across generations as relationships between Kemet, the Greek world, Kush/Nubia, Rome, and later civilizations change from exchange and observation to political ambition, conflict, conquest, cultural transformation, and the struggle over historical memory.
The film combines historical drama with a restrained mythological dimension, exploring how political systems, religious traditions, technologies, symbols, and ideas can survive long after the civilizations that created them have changed. At its heart, EGYPTIAN BLUE asks a larger question: What happens when the world remembers the achievement — but forgets where it came from? Produced as a large-format cinematic experience, the film is being developed for 70mm cinema screens and premium theatrical formats, emphasizing monumental environments, practical historical realism, large-scale cinematography, and immersive sound.
